America’s Hometown Band will be performing its annual Christmas show at Emens Auditorium on Sunday, Dec. 6 and director Roger McConnell has been preparing for the show all year.

“Right after last year’s show, we’re saying okay, what worked and what pieces would we like to repeat,” McConnell said.

Every year, several local performers accompany the band. This year, a jazz band, a cappella singers and a children’s choir are among those featured. The program will include Christmas classics and a few other selections.

The band contains professional and amateur musicians. Kathy Huggler, vice president of information, will be performing in the show.

“It’s a fun group to play with,” Huggler said. “Everybody’s there because they want to be there. Sometimes we even say ‘we’re going to have a great time even if there isn’t an audience,’ because we just love to play.”
